Plunder the Sea
Plunder the Sea is an online scratchcard game at Ladbrokes Casino, but instead of scratching panels you have to pop bubbles under the sea to reveal the symbols hidden underneath. There are two games in Plunder the Sea – one requires you to match sea creatures and the other involves opening a sunken treasure chest. The game features bright, proud graphics, suitably fluid sound effects and a delightfully straightforward interface that allows you to start playing for cash within moments of logging in.
The Plunder the Sea scratchcard game screen shows a colourful underwater scene in the background, with a large central bubble and six slightly smaller bubbles in the foreground. If you want to you can click a Reveal All button to reveal all of the hidden game symbols automatically, but we think it’s more fun to play the two games manually, so we’ll now explain how to do just that.
Game 1 requires you to pop the six smaller-sized bubbles in any order you choose. You are treated to a very realistic popping sound as you do this, and when a bubble has been popped it reveals one of several seas creatures, such as a starfish, turtle or even a killer whale. Each of these creatures is associated with a multiplier figure. Pop all six bubbles and if you get three matching sea creatures then you will win the associated multiplier figure multiplied by the amount of money that you have staked on the game.
Game 2 involves scratching the Prize Panel under the large central bubble to reveal the multiplier figure that you are playing for. You can then pop the central bubble to open a treasure chest and see what is hidden inside. If the treasure chest contains the skeleton of a dead fish then you lose. However, if it contains a Golden Fish then you win the multiplier figure multiplied by your stake.
As we said earlier, you can play both Plunder the Sea games at once by clicking the Reveal All button, but if you do that then you will miss out on the impressive sound effects and possibly overlook the attention to detail that has gone into the game.
For example, look closely when you pop any of the smaller bubbles and you will notice that the sea creatures are animated rather than static. The animation only lasts a second or two, but if you win Game 1 then the creature responsible for your prize will show off its animation again for as long as it takes you to start the next game.
All in all, Plunder the Sea is a great game that plays as simply as a regular scratchcard but involves popping bubbles rather than scratching silver panels. The design and audio of the game is impressive, and you could win yourself a fortune by having a go – what more could an online scratchcards player ask for?
