Like most Jackpot Scratch online scratchcards, Love Match is generously sized and very nicely presented. Two angels, one holding a harp and the other a Cupid-style bow and arrow, are positioned at the top left and right of the scratchcard. Between them is the Love Match logo and a Prize panel. At the bottom of the card are heart shaped arrows that allow you to set your stake for the game, and an Autoplay gadget that allows you to set the game to play itself as few or as many times as you would like. As always, we opted to play manually for the purposes of writing this review.
The main section of the Love Match online scratchcard is a square grid of nine scratch panels. Behind each scratch panel is symbol that in some way relates (if you forgive the pun) to romance and love. We’re talking about love letters, champagne, flowers, a gift box and, lest we forget, the angels that we mentioned earlier.
When you have set your stake, press the Play button to generate a new card, then scratch each of the nine panels, which are arranged in a 3x3 grid pattern. When you scratch a panel a virtual coin is used and the animation replicates the scratching action you would normally encounter in a traditional offline scratchcard game, which is a nice touch. Of course, winning is the most important thing, and if you get three angels in a straight line – horizontally, vertically or diagonally – then you win the amount hidden under the Prize scratch panel.
Love match is a very simple game from a technical perspective, and it is certainly easy to play, but its first class presentation and generous cash prizes elevate it to an instant classic. Add in the fact that – on average – 1 in every 3 games is a winner and Love Match is a game that many scratchcard players will quickly fall in love with.
